World is forming a global network of small locally owned
and operated Bed & Breakfasts, Small Hotels, Hostels and
Cafes focused on local cultures and providing meeting places
for travelers and hosts.
Some of these Centers already exist but are unconnected.
Others will be created anew to support a local social or
environmental project, reflecting the needs and traditions
of their own locales.
At the Civil Rights Inn, a small hotel near the sites
of Martin Luther King's assassination, the famous bridge,
and the Birmingham jail, each room is decorated with
dramatic photos and quotes of the era. Pilgrims to these
historic places can stay in inspiring and educational
surroundings and become, themselves, motivated to help
change the world.
Washington D.C.'s Founders Dreams Bed & Breakfast,
each guest room features a document - Declaration of
Independence, the Constitution, the Bill of Rights, the
Emancipation Proclamation, Gettysburg Address, Kennedy's
Inaugural Address, documents, photos, of the visions for
America, books.
Hawaii's Real Hawaiian History Bed & Breakfast, each
room featuring large portrait of a real Hawaiian leader, for
instance Queen Liliuokalani, and documents and stories of
her imprisonment and dying of a broken heart.
The Butterfly Inn incorporating a real butterfly farm
and educational materials about butterfly habitat and
conditions for survival.
Interstate 40's Native Indian Thinkers Inn, each
guest room features a huge portrait of Indian leaders of the
area like Crazy Horse, Chief Seattle, Chief Big Foot and
quotations by them.
Interstate 99's Broken Treaties Hotel, each guest
room features a wall size copy of a treaty signed between
two sovereign nations and never kept by the U.S. government.
Learning about situation of native Americans then and now.
Chacala's Native Trees Bed & Breakfast, each guest
room is themed around a local native tree or plant, colors,
paintings, local uses and medicinal values, etc.
Kathmandu's Educate-the-Children Bed & Breakfast,
next door is a model local school. Opportunities for
teachers and staff to interact with travelers - "show and
